“Reminiscently White” Sourdough Round

“Mom’s Shepherd Bread” is a heartwarming, “reminiscently white round” that graced our Christmas Day table every year. Mom made this special bread only once annually, calling it her “Shepherd Bread Round.” As a little girl, I once asked her why she called it “Shepherd’s Bread”. She explained, Because this is what the shepherds ate as they waited for the baby Jesus to be born!” With a crusty outside and a soft, warm texture, this bread is the essence of comfort and tradition. I’ve now given it a sourdough twist for added flavor and health benefits, and it’s become a cherished favorite by my family and friends. Inspired by this beloved loaf, I’ve created my “Mom’s Shepherd Bread” menu, expanding on her loving legacy.
